Did you know, according to the Institute of Public Affairs, China emits more carbon in 16 days than Australia does in one year? So why are we rushing to reach Net Zero? To destroy our economy, to ensure wealth transfer to the elites and to lose any hope of a successful manufacturing base in Australia. So, why we would do that? The government of course, which blindly follows the United Nations (UN), the World Economic Forum (WEF) the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other global agencies.
A report by Australian Manufacturing in 2023 showed that in the last 15 years, manufacturing has declined more than any other industry, but mining jobs are increasing. Well, maybe not if MP Tanya Plibersek has a say. She’s recently shut down the $192 million gold mine that Regis Resources had planned, based on Indigenous cultural heritage grounds, despite having received all the ticks of approval for its development.
Common sense says that cheaper energy costs lead to cheaper prices and more investment by companies in Australia. But of course, Australia has let our manufacturing industries decline over decades.
Our government couldn’t even manage to keep the manufacturing of saline within the country and has to import it. Really? We can’t even make enough salty water for IV fluid bags for medicine? Apparently, there is a worldwide shortage. Of course, the government creates a problem and miraculously creates a solution. According to a recent ABC report, our Health Minister, has secured 22 million IV fluid bags. Thank you, Mark. What would we do without you?
In moving towards Net Zero, the Senate passed legislation in late August 2024 to establish the Net Zero Economy Authority. It’s expected to get final approval in early September 2024, when Parliament sits again. The Labor Government has again committed to driving the Australian economy down the drain through seeking to achieve the unrealistic 2050 Net Zero targets set by the UN. The Authority “will ensure the workers, industries and communities that have powered Australia for generations can seize the opportunities of Australia’s net zero transformation.” The precursor to the Authority, the Net Zero Economy Agency, was established on 1 July 2023.
Our federal government has been working towards Net Zero and many other changes to our country while we have been distracted by the ‘pandemic.’ In 2021 we re-committed our allegiance to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change through the report ‘Australia State of the Environment’. Through our membership of the WEF’s Centre for Nature and Climate, we have committed to their goal of Net Zero. We have the National Climate Resilience and Adaption Strategy 2021-2025 which is managed by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water with Net Zero as one of its strategies.
At a state level we have, for example, the State Disaster Mitigation Plan developed by the NSW Reconstruction Authority with 37 short to medium actions to manage the risk of natural hazards.
And at a local level, we have things like AdaptNSW which provides information for communities, businesses, households, local councils and authorities, and government to adapt to climate change.
Do you see the connections and influence these global agencies have over us? The UN and the WEF say ‘jump’ and Australia says ‘how high’.
But, it’s not just the government driving things. Australia’s Climate Council an ‘independent leading climate change communications organisation’ is highly biased towards the ‘climate emergency concept’ without demonstrable evidence to back this up. Check out and challenge their ‘Communication Guides’ in your discussions with climate change zealots.
We, and our government, must stop blindly following these agencies. We must think for ourselves and make decisions that support the growth and prosperity of Australia, while being cognisant of the implications of our decisions on the rest of the world. If you care about what’s happening in Australia, write to your federal and state members. Remember, they work for us.
